Chief Executive, Founder of Benjon Oy, Principal partner & Chair of the Board, European Trade Mark Attorney
Benjon's history from the founder's perspective:
As rays of hope began to appear in the Finnish economy, following the recession of the early 1990's, I felt the need for a change in direction. This resulted in October 1995 in the founding of Benjon Oy. Inspiration for the name "Benjon" came from the bungee jump: when you decide to leave behind a secure job of almost 30 years and start a completely new business, it does feel a bit like jumping from a height of 100 metres with only a rope around your ankles! You hope, and believe, that the rope will hold for Fifteen years on we can now see that the rope did indeed hold, and that the decision was the right one.
The restructuring of trademarks in 1996 gave the new entrepreneur excellent opportunities, assuming one had the courage to meet the challenges, which Benjon certainly did not lack.
A strong beginning and steady growth have been key features of our enterprise; now in 2010, we already number more than twenty. Our work has consistently focused on fulfilling the wishes of our clients, which has welded us as an effective team.
If we try to summarize the qualities that characterise our mission, the following come to mind:
"Customer service, expertise, competitiveness, openness, integrity, enterprise, freedom of communication". These are the values that guide our day-to-day work and are never far from our minds in our weekly staff meetings, so that we should practice what we preach.
Benjon's emphasis over the years has moved from simple trademark portfolio management to comprehensive client service in all legal areas of IPR.
We are confident that problems are there to be solved, and success to be celebrated.
